Well it was my cousin adams last day in QLD yesterday and I had the day off so I took him out for a full day chasing some fish on lures. ;)

We started the morning around 10:30AM at golden beach caloundra casting SP and HB for a few flathead. we fished there for around an hour and a half producing 3 fish and loosing one good flatty.

First fish was a flatty I got on an sx48 went 38cm

second fish was another flatty this time Adam got it on a 4\" gulp minnow in molting went 42cm.

then Adam got another fish this time a little estuary Cod

We then packed up and headed over to Currimundi lake where my mate paul was going to meet us in his yak. the aim was to get onto a jack or trevally but only small fish around.

The Lake is currently Land locked as you can see in this photo.

A flatty to remember

[img size=499]http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/bb161/pcsolutionman/fishing%20with%20adam/p1020450-web.jpg

then adam had a go at pauls yak and got a little grunter bream on a trolled strike pro pygmie.

about 2pm by this stage so we decided to go do little retail therapy at Amart and Tackleworld :woohoo:

:woohoo:

After we both spent too many $$$

we headed over to the moorings on the mooloolah river for an afternoon/evening session on some big breambos:P got there around 4:30pm and man the bream were thick you could see them eating off every pilon and boat getting on there sides and all, they wouldnt take anything we threw at them though:angry: but here are a few pics I took to get your juices flowing, all these fish were between 30-45cm:ohmy:

[img size=499]http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/bb161/pcsolutionman/fishing%20with%20adam/p1020461-web.jpg

[img size=499]http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/bb161/pcsolutionman/fishing%20with%20adam/p1020466-web.jpg

The only thing caught before dark was a Squid adam got on a cultiva mirishad diver.

[img size=499]http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/bb161/pcsolutionman/fishing%20with%20adam/p1020469-web.jpg

he was kept for calamari

The first fish hooked after dark was by me a ripper of a fish that smashed a 3\" gulp minnow in moldy cheese on a 1/16th head on the drop thought I was onto a 40cm+ breambo for sure. he peeled line off on three occasions before I got sight of him. low and behold a trever that went 36cm

[img size=499]http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/bb161/pcsolutionman/fishing%20with%20adam/p1020471-web.jpg

anybody know exactly what species?

I was on a roll and caught the next 3 fish all good breambos

a 29cm fish

[img size=499]http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/bb161/pcsolutionman/fishing%20with%20adam/p1020474-web.jpg

then a 37cm

[img size=499]http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/bb161/pcsolutionman/fishing%20with%20adam/p1020475-web.jpg

the an almost 31cm

[img size=499]http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/bb161/pcsolutionman/fishing%20with%20adam/p1020476-web.jpg

then adam got absolutley smashed hard up agianst a boat on a 2\" gulp shrimp thought he was onto another trever but turned out to be his PB bream.

one happy chappy

[img size=499]http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/bb161/pcsolutionman/fishing%20with%20adam/p1020479-web.jpg

Another fine session to farewell the cousin - good one. The bream remind me of the deck at the Ballina RSL - always plenty of huge ones there surface feeding on the moths at night (and the odd food scrap thrown by visitors lol)

I too have never seen the lake closed and have been there on and off for nearly 40 years:S We were playing a bit of beach cricket there last summer - where it's all water now.

I thought the flying fish was a siamese moth:laugh:

Mate, that trever is very similar to the one I got at Brunswick Heads last weekend. Had the same spots. I looked it up and thought the markings on it made it a GT but I'd take Mackmauler's advice he seems to know what he's talking about. I'll be up at caloundra for a week in November. I might have to hit you up for a fish while I'm up there.

BTW trevelley feel like a 50cm bream. They pull insanely hard for their size. :cheer:

i dig up a couple of pics, the fish are a bit bigger and trevas do change with age, the one on the right is what i know as a turrum on the left is a brassy, and the one in the 2nd pic is the fella you got, ive seen them through there growth stages and dont have a pic of a juvenile.
