Stoked!!!!!!!

Hi Guys,

My last post was regarding how to fish with soft plastics as I am a beginner in lure fishing. Got to BCF last Thursday and bought my new Daiwa Aird TDT 2500 with 2 - 4 kg rod spooled with 10lb fins braid and 12lb fluorocarbon.

Me and a mate hit the road at 4am on a freezing Saturday morning from Griffin and headed to Caloundra to fish the passage. Launched boat at 5:30am and started flicking plastics along the drop offs and flats. As the tide was turning I put on a Squidgy wriggler in bloodworm colour and flicked it out to the ledge then 1 - 2 lifts and bang I was on my first fish on lures and it was a 42cm flathead. I was so stoked and excited. A quick release and a high five from my mate.

My tally for the day was 2 flat head and a small Bream all released.

Thank you guys for all your help and posts.

Cheers,

Darren

Nice work man. If the reel came with a spare spool, put on some lighter line and it may help with increasing the amount of hook ups you'll get. Keep in mind it will also possibly increase the amount of lost fish too due to being under gunned sometimes.
