Report Upper Kedron Brook. I got down to the brook at 3.10pm and burleyed up with bread and there was heaps of mullet around. i casted a bit off bread in to the school and the float started bobbing so i lifted the rod quick and the fish was on and it splashed off the surface and took a little jump i got it in and it was 13cm Mullet i took the hook out and thru it back. i casted back out and got a few more mullet. i keep fishing and this dark shadow went under the float and a solid tap went thru the rod and the float went under so i striked. and the came screaming out of the reel and i fought the fish for about 2mintues and i had a 39cm tilapia on the bank and it weighed about 1kg. i measured it and i stabbed it and put it in the bin. I left at 4.20pm because i ran out of bait and walked home

Tilapia are fun to catch and the bigger mullet go hard for their size too! Well done for doing the right thing and disposing the tilapia.

How far up Kedron Brook? My new house backs onto it, havent seen any tilapia in the section near me, only spotted little mullet so far. I know there are heaps of eel tailed catties in in it too but havent seen any since I moved in.

^ it is the section next to the arana leagues club at arana hills. I have not noticed very many catties but I have caught one from there and there is heaps of mullet in there as well
