queensland 33s again

With the weather looking good on Sunday morning I decided to take my wife and brother out through SPB for their first real trip offshore. My real fear here was the wife being ready to leave at 3:30am...

It turned out to be a non issue and by 4:40am or so we were on the water heading towards the bar(after running into shane69). After a safe crossing we were fishing the 33s by 6. Then my bro got a phone call. His dog had escaped.

He let his wife deal with the issue to start with so we got some fishing in. Over a two hour period we only boated two fish. A 45 snapper and 40 pearly, which was my bro's first offshore fish. We were back at the ramp by 9am. He found the dog in the end. I thought last Saturday was the shortest trip offshore...

For some reason he wanted to wear the gimbal belt...

Always a relief to find your dog if it they ever get out.

Only thing to make you feel better is if Shane caught nothing. :dry:

Yep, short trip alright!! On the plus side two is better than none. Good effort getting the wife out the door by 3:30am mate, I'd be NOOOOO chance!!!

You would have spent nearly as long cleaning the boat as you did fishing! But like Kelvin said, any trip is better than none. Personally I would have letting the dog run free until the fish went off the chew. :evil:

It was good seeing you too mate. Boat looks awesome now. Come a long way since you got it. Total weapon now. Good long range boat.

Mate the fishing has been funny out there.

Gotta stay and presist all day to get a good catch.

Hopefully water temp goes lower soon fire reef fishing up.

Thanks for the nice words Shane and Wayne. It's nice finally having a boat decked out the exact way I like it. Took me two years of fishing to figure out how I wanted it.

I got no fish at 33s. I went out wider and got a bag snaps, few pearlies and a heap of kingies.

Hard work but paid off.

Julian I use to have a 18ft yaltacraft many years ago was a great boat.

Go bro 1st pearlie , stay longer and get the goods I am thinking of getting my deckies to hand in all their phones to me so we just fish and spin yarns not look at face book or text
