queensland Long green fat fish

Yeah not the pretty endangered type but the horrible shark bait type :sick: Dad and I went for a paddle this morning and were pleased to pick up a couple of dozen bass in the few hours that we were out. A lot of my bass were caught on a gary yamamoto lure, which I have to admit, is really giving the flickershad a a pretty good run for its money! I also caught bass throwing thready buster jnrs and got a few on a KVD crankbait.

Got me a little bit excited seeing a big green head emerge! Thought it was a yella at the beginning though as it was giving me big thumping kicks. Really put up a big fight on the Nordic!

No idea how we got the lure back. But it was covered in snot!

This thing was so hard to get off the line!

I was on NPD from 6030 am to 400 pm for one bass!!

Went down to the island then way upstream. Upstream trip was more to show my deckie the dam.

Stacks of shags upstream of the powerlline / cattle yards.

Well done on the bass, hope its not like last year where we had a couple of good months then they stopped. I would be careful having a fish with trebles in it that close to the xmas decos.

Gee that's a pretty long day for only 1 bass! Good to have an explore though. I haven't been upstream for ages. Might have to go for a look up the river one day soon.

Haha that did occur to me after I released it back. My best fish for the day did jump however, and I ended up with a treble through my pants, in one bit of my thigh and back out the other. That was very painful with a fish jumping round pulling at the lure in my leg!

Yeah I'd actually stopped the yak and was changing lures. Must have been pretty shallow and the lure was obviously bumping around on the bottom.
