Back in the cold water today. As expected the bigger bass were hiding in the deeper warm water but the baby bass (24-36cm) came out to play. Blades accounted for all the bass.

Didn't wade in to find the warmer water ?

Do you tie direct or use a snap swivel with your lures ?

My guess is that I'd have to swim out 70m to the warmer water. With all freshwater lure fishing I use snaps. It takes me <5secs to unclip a lure and clip on a new lure.

Way to go Joe,if I even put a foot in the water the water lice get me, when I take my boat out of the water I have to be quick or they get me then.

I find the water lice active in warm water. I've been wearing shorts the past few trips and they're not feeding on me.

Dino, these discerning water lice prefer a mature red (from your legs) like in a premium red wine.

Another 2 weeks of this heat the big bass (and water lice) will be back in the shallows. I succumbed to the heat yesterday and went for a dip to cool off my steaming head. The water was at least 3deg cooler than my pool.
