Tomorrow - 10/1 - Bribie or Coolangatta?

I would personally prefer going up to bribie rather than coolangatta for a few reasons 1 being small crowds rather than coolie where you get heaps of swimmers and at times 100s of surfers even early 2. Ample parking and access 3. Being for me the gold Coast has to much of a "glittery" feeling rather than bribie. And for rods a seven footer will be fine as I presume you will targeting bread n butter species not pelagics or jew. This is just my opinion, but hope it helps :)

Well I can safely say the concept of jet skis has truly ruined Bribie Island. No matter where we went there was masses of people but worse rather inconsiderate jet ski operators at speed close to swimmers and anglers. Tried White Patch through Woorim with no interest in anything offered.

My wife then suggested Redcliffe. After collecting some soldier crabs for bait to bolster our squid reserves we proceeded to the Redcliffe Jetty as the tide was receding out of other potential haunts.

Halfway out we both hooked up on just undersize sand whiting. First time I've used and caught something on soldier crabs. After the local kids decided to stop bomb diving off the end we moved up to the pontoons.

Well turns out bream like squid today. Everyone else with 2/0 hooks were missing out while our little size 4 and 6 ones were on fire. One legal bream out of the lot but so much fun the way they aggressively smashed the squid. One Moses perch as well joined the party.

My wife loves fresh fish and took great pleasure in rubbing it in that she caught dinner ;)
