Bake and Jake

Headed out tuesday for a bit more lure fun at NPD while the bass were active in the area. Wasnt long before I was into the action on my way down the dam. Some of the small schools were scattered and took a bit of tracking down, but hey thats what sounders are for, they do all the work, well nearly. Managed 63 bass with only the one good one at 50cm.

Wednesday morning headed out with my grandson Jake, every now and again he wants to head out with poppy to catch a few. We found the small schools and was picking some up trolling and then decided to do a bit of jigging. Jake was slowly getting the hang of jigging when he decided to put a long cast in and out come 2 bunches of grapes. We fiddled with it for 5 mins and gave up, so no more jigging. Changed over to some crazydeep lures and we started to get double hookups. Finished up with 47 bass and one yella all on lures. Oh the bake, I got cooked on tuesday and then again wednesday, Jakie went home looking like a tomato.

We found the mother load of bass halfway back up the dam past where you were trolling up and down.  New sounder works a treat (apart from randomly turning off like you said it does!!!).  We didn't have long to play with them though so didn't hit your numbers.  But in the 15 or so minutes we had with them we got them on jackalls, ice jigs, plastics, blades and tail spins.  They were very thick.  I marked the spot as a way point even though they will probably be gone by now!
