Any land based fishing competition in Brisbane?

Pretty few and far between.

There is one on Bribie at the start of the whiting season from memory, run by one of the fishing bodies. otherwise the nearest thing I can think of is the carp comp at Wiralong dam next month, it usually has a heavy shore based contingent.

there are load of different clubs online and on facebook that runs comps regularly. RLBF Moreton bay on facebook for one example. do the Moreton bay classic and Brisbane river classic still get run here on AFO @angus ? its a matter of joining and following a heap of local run groups to find the comps. TBD Sharking are also running a comp come easter. there is no real list as such of comps in Brisbane that you can look at, just being deep in the Brisbane fishing community will provide comps for you

Hi Guys,

Moreton Island has a fishing comp that is beach fishing only called the ARB Moreton Island Fishing Classic.  Family friendly and small comp (less than 250 entrants usually).  Dates yet to be released for 2017 but you can add yourself to the mailing list here for updates:

FOTM Entries - November 2016

The Fish Of The Month for November is: Whiting (any species) 

How to submit Entries:- Entries must be received by 8pm on the last day of each month. Entries must be in the format shown below (a good idea would be to copy and paste and then fill out for your catch).

Angler:

Species:

Where Caught: (location eg Bretts Wharf or Indooroopilly Bridge etc)

When:

Size: Length (overall) (please note a clearly discernible measuring device must be evident). We realize this will be challenging with a big spanish for example but do your best :)

Weight: if possible

Photo: Attach photo by browsing and finding the photo/s and then when finished writing your entry hit submit and the image will automatically be included.

Unique Item: A number that can be shown on a written card, display of fingers etc:

The Unique Signal for this competition is 

" 6 " Either with fingers or printed number
 

Caption/Catch Report: (In the interest of fostering knowledge any little tid bits may be appreciated by the readers)

Bragging Rights: Bragging rights will be available to a potential 3 anglers...
