Lake Macdonald Catch And Release Bass Fishing Comp - Sunday 26th June

Andrew and I traveled up to Lake Mcdonald on Saturday and left  the boat at the hatchery and we stayed at the Active big 4 van park at Noosaville . We stayed in a bunkhouse room that was a real bargain at only $40 for the 2 of us. Airconditioned and comfortable beds and a real good camp kitchen only 30 feet down the verandah.

Early breakfast and off the the hatchery where we hitched up the boat and launched.

We were disappointed to be told that it was a lure and fly only comp as there was nothing about this on the brochure.

We had a bit of a troll for zilch and found a good display on the sounder and commenced to bait fish.

Andrew had 50 tags and he had run out by 9am and we ran out of shrimp by 11 am so we called it a day and came home.

Did not really care about the comp as the entry fees all went to the hatchery and we had a good mornings fishing.

Does not get any better catching plenty of fish and listening to stirring music of pipes and drums playing in the park.

Sorry no photos too busy fishing.

Cheers

Ray

Quite a cool morning as well, 2 degrees at the Dam when we launched.

20 odd entries for the comp, field ranged form those just out for a bit of fun, to a couple who looked like they thought sheep stations were up for grabs.!

No huge fish, but plenty of them, quite a hot bite until we ran out of bait.

Picture is of the biggest I caught, and the room we stayed in and the kitchen.
