Calcutta 400b Casting Brake

Can anyone that owns a Shimano Calcutta 400B baitcaster tell me if the casting brake is adjustable. I can't seem to open the plate on that side of the reel to access it. The instructions only show how to open the access plate on the 200 size and the same method doesn't work for the 400.
