My own fault.

Knew that the tyres on the trailer under my new boat were a bit old but as I am in the process of building up a braked axle using 5 stud holden rims with brand new tyres on the holden rims I thought that I could get away with running the existing tyres for a while.

Blew on the M1 at 5am and with no spare got tilt trayed to nerang where we had to wait for bridgestone to open so after new tyre fitted we finally arrived at the hinze western arm at 9am.

Took me 2 hours before I finally boated my first and only bass whilst Rick and Mark got around 30 between them before we pulled the pin at midday. Plenty of wind and whitecaps on the way back to the ramp with the boat getting up to 8kph with the tail wind.

Fitting holden hubs and rims tomorrow.

Just glad you and everyone around when blew are OK. Its not easy trying to keep a car under control with a blow out.

We drove about 1k to find somewhere safe to pull over did not realise how much armco is on the side of the M1. Heard too many stories about people pulled over on the side being cleaned up.

Yeah, definitely worth destroying the Tyre, and possibly a rim rather than pulling up on the highway, no where near enough room to be safe. Cheap price to pay to be safe.
