Heya @Old Scaley we have 30 people RSVP'd and this afternoon began the chicken marinating. 60 chicken drumsticks is a LOT of chicken by the way. Everything is looking under control so rewarding myself with a few wines this avo. I have a list of around 750 things to take with me including tongs

Was a bit weary today (on the oval for golf in this heat the day after a swimming carnival will do that .....) so forgot to grab what I needed for the casting comp. All good though, we'll improvise and aim at a laundry basket ...  Was going to mark where they landed with shot put markers so I'll think of Plan B.

You two aren't as silly as you look .......    Good ideas - will go with one of them  Brian - do you have some tent pegs you could bring? I took mine to school on Thursday to help stake down the marquees and don't think I got them back.  

Weather forecast looks OK Danielle - go ahead as planned and people can make their own mind up if rain does eventuate. If it does rain you would basically be guaranteed use of one of the large gazebo's there.

So ill be there 15 minutes early or so to set up my "goods" on a little table. I have dug up a lot more good but dust collecting lures as well. Ill bring anothet esky and a couple of bags of ice. Looking forward to it.

That is not true Sam, you ran second in the casting comp and you also held the nappkins and watched as everyone else cleaned the BBQ's

Yep, awesome social today Danielle, well done for all of your hard work organising it and for the yummy food!!  Went down a treat. Good to finally meet a few people face to face and catch up with others where it's been far too long. Bring on Xmas holidays and plenty of fish for everyone in 2017!!

Thanks to all involved with organizing and catering, was good to get out and amongst it and meet some people who I have spoken to or about many times but had never met.

 

it was kind of fun doing the trivia bit, glad most people got involved. I must say... Watching a group of fishos stare blankly at me when I pronounced a Latin name of a fish was quite entertaining...  well done to @DropBear for taking it out.

Thanks heaps to everyone who made this happen and especially @Danielle for the fantastic food!  It was great to see both new and old faces and hopefully next time I'll be able to meet plenty of others on AFO.  Thanks for the good chats and laughs - you all seem like a top bunch of blokes 

Also thanks to @Angus for bringing along a small tackle shop haha.  That seemed to keep everyone interested and the prices were second to none!

And @benno573 I believe the reason we were all looking at you with blank faces about the latin names was actually only because of your appalling prononcation
