Trailcraft 640 Cracked Hull

I recent purchased a 2005 trailcraft 640 centre cab.  Australian made. it is 5m plate bottom  yesterday I got home and noticed 2 cracks( decent ones) either side of the boat on the bottom of the hull about 20mm from the chines. 

 

I looked inside and there is a bulkhead that's fully welded to the bottoms sides but stops 20mm short of the side sheets.  all the other ribs are "floating ribs" sitting ontop of the stringers.

 

has any one else had this issues or seen it before. ?

I think that @crazywalrus ( ted stevens)had similar issues had a big write up and also on facebook.

I would try asking Trailcraft what they think.

It's obviously not under warranty but they might have had some previously and have a good solution for you. I have heard of the same problem in the other older Trailcraft's.

thanks Bi_polar,  I had this fixed by JD Marine welding.  they welded the cracks and extended the rib to the chines to prevent it again.  great price and time frame.

 

I didn't think Trailcraft existed anymore ?
