end day 3.. SA 6 for 390. Lead of 388.

if Aus can bowl the SA tail end out early and cheaply tomorrow, with no Dale Steyn batting or bowling due to a break in a shoulder bone, with the pitch starting to wear a low 400 target may not be impossible for the Aussies if all top end batsmen fire.

That's the catch. It hasn't happened for quite a while now.

day 5  Aus all out 361... not bad for a 2nd innings score line, unfortunately 177 short of SA  2nd innings score.

without Khawaja , Nevill and a bit of a wag from the Aussie tail the score line could have been very ugly.

Joe Burns has been included in the team heading to the 2nd test in Hobart starting Saturday

Adam Voges has a hamstring problem and Peter Siddle has a recurring back problem, both are likely tomiss the 2nd test in Hobart.

The way the injuries are coming up, the Aussies may have a more balanced batting team than the first test. :)

Sefricans are just stronger at the moment :(

I'm not sure... I think it comes down to leadership - or lack of. While we bowled great for the first session of the test, we lacked direction and a cohesive bowling attack from then on. If a team don't feel as though they have a real target then they can't be expected to perform well and in sync with the bat.

Yeah, I just watched the Sth African series. Australia lacked any decent or experienced bowling attack. The batting was so frustrating - most seemed not to take their job seriously and put their heads down. Very disappointing.

Perhaps Starc will provide some bowling leadership and Warner and Smith can lead in the batting. Let's hope some of the rest can follow. :)

3rd Test Thursday Adelaide 24-28 Nov (last test v SA this home series)

6 tossed after Hobart test: Joe Burns, Callum Ferguson, Mitchell Marsh, Joe Mennie, Peter Nevill, and Adam Vogues.

Mitch Marsh and Adam Vogues are injured and were not considered, at least 1 of them will be lucky to get picked for the v Pakistan tests.

6 in for Adelaide: Jackson Bird Tas, Peter Handscomb Vic, Nic Maddinson NSW, Matt Renshaw Qld, Chad Sayers SA and Matt Wade Vic (again and again…)

My 2 cents, with Wade coming back in Peter Nevill can consider himself the sacrificial lamb, if the previous batting line ups had done their jobs the pressure would not have been on him to produce with the bat.

If the new 6 do not produce where to then… No use looking at the Ippy High first 11, their all down at schoolies.
