Recruiting a few more to this as well. Steve Wilkes has a new estuary boat he wants to use a lot and should be keen.

I have been asked by person... Would any boaters be keen to load up a yak on the bow (or however)?

This was if anyone was yak inclined they could just launch right at the camp site...

Cheers.

I would happily load or tow yaks with my boat. No issues there at all.

I'm in for a day trip

If anyone has a spare spot on their boat i could fill

If your looking for a lift over for the day it would help to be more specific which day andhow long you intend staying a few skippers will start having drinks in the arvo and wont be able to dropanyone back the majority of skippers are staying a night or 2 but there could be some will just fish a day over the weekend and drop in to say hello tothe crew camping there.

100% in and taking my boat. I will stay the Saturday night, and probably come across and meet up with the offshore crew before light Saturday(or whenever they're going). The plan is to troll for Spaniards, dollies or whatevers around, broken up with maybe some time dropping onto the 35s for reefies. If this is up your alley, let me know as I have a single deckie spot that's still available. I can fill it with a mate, but would prefer an AFO member. I'd like to do an early morning fish again Sunday, then packed up back at the ramp by lunch. Really looking forward to it.

With all the food and equipment, what's the go? Do people chuck in and help with the washing up, or is gear able to be used, borrowed for preparing meals?

Also what do people do in regards to fuel, my boat will easily do a tank in a day. Was thinking of just going back to the ramp, pulling her out, going to the servo, then putting her back in?

Friday night most crews sought out their own tucker but saturday night we do the group dinner and i bring a rotiserie plus a couple of camp ovens so do a coule of mates sowe tend to have enough cooking gear just bring your own cutlery there probably be plenty of plastic plates etc if you don,t mind eating off plastic in camp. I never have a problem with boat fuel i have good range with my tank but the boat ramps arent far from blakeleys camp.

I'll be keeping an eye on where the spotties have been popping up.

I second that! I'll be taking my tinny over, provided the weather is calm enough. Tika and I would love two seats on a boat for an early fish on Sunday if anybody is willing to have a girl out-fish them?

At this stage I'm planning on doing the same Angus - are you taking a tinny over? I'm hoping to chuck a few pots in, take a cast net in case there are some prawns and I'll be keeping an eye on where the spotties have been popping up.

I was planning on dropping a few pots in on the way over early morning, periodically checking them over the weekend. If it's hot around this time, the sandies should be out and about.

Great time of year now for  both muddies and sandies

Sorry folks I am now out for this trip. I have a new job and have a conference on the 25th of Feb. Without work, there is no fishing. Pretty disappointed, but there will be a next time.

In good news, I am now an information security specialist and start work on the 23rd of Jan after nearly a 2 month break.

Shame you won't be there but congrats on the job Julian, great stuff!!

Thanks mate! Had plans on taking longer time off, but honestly, I'm bored(Silly Brissy wind!). Been in Hobart since last Saturday, home this Saturday(please tell the wind to go away!).

Been watching people fish at the Casino here and catch lots of Wrase looking fish. Water is soooo nice. I'm here for a conference, otherwise I'd be out fishing. Can you believe no crabs here, but they can get crays in pots! Lots of Scallop pies too!

Hi all,

I am planning to come along to this event in my tinnie. I'll drag along a mate or my girlfriend if the weather is perfect.

Hoping we get some good weather, I would love to follow some of the bigger boats offshore if there are plans for this.

I know I am not a regular contributor but it will be good to meet you all and share a beer.

Good to hear mate. Oh and it's attending events like these that lead to you participating in the forum more. Putting faces to names makes a huge difference when you then read their posts/threads. Look forward to meeting you.

@sax like @kmcrosby78 said you are more than welcome. It is this sort of event that solidifies AFO as more than just an online pursuit and makes it a community. Look forward to having a beer with you :)

5 weeks to go today we will be running a fishing comp over the weekend at the social for bragging rights and the report will be posted here on afo. The longest fish for each region inshore (moreton bay) and offshore (weather dependent) please take pictures of your best fish on a measuring device for the chance to be crowned the socials champion anglers.

Plenty of reports of mackerel around peel island area through the week just gone with the water temp climbing should make for interesting bay fishing from the camp. Definately spanish macks offshore around point lookout on stradie lately and they will only get thicker as we move in to February
