Jason and I arrived at Hinze western arm at 5.30 and met up with Mark and headed over to Ians Island and by 6.30 we had 18 fish and had run out of shrimp.

We then did the pots and headed downstream and nothing was showing on the sounder so back upstream up past bass bay where we started to find some bass and tandans.

Jason was the Tandan king with around 7 to his name whilst Mark and myself had to be satisfied with 3 or 4 each.

We kept on moving around and went up as far as the weed barrier picking up a few fish here and there with no schools en-counted.

This one put a smile on Jasons face upgrading his pb by quite a few cm.

Most of the fish were in the high 30s and low 40s with the odd under.

I managed a tagged tiddler that had grown from 24cm to 26 in 9 months.

Chunky looking Hinze bass. Hope there are few around in March when I head up there for a kids and parents fishing camp.
