Snap Out Of It

Hi all , thought throw a quick report up seen as though I haven’t posted much. Between a fractured hand and getting made redundant I have for the first time ever been in a position to watch the weather and whenever I feel like it just say stuff it and head out on the water. These are some of the results of the last two  months of fishing. It’s been an epic snapper season with my new pb going 90cm hopefully I can upgrade before I get a new job. And that mass mackeral on the deckwas caught by a mate and weighed 29kg. It’s been a ball to get big Mack’s on surface stickbaits and watch full blown aerial surface strikes. Had one 25+ kg fish hit my lure and launch a clean 4 metres out of the water and nearly land in the boat. Unfortunately He threw the hooks on the way back down still pretty hectic to see though. Any how enough talk enjoy the pics

Ummmmm ......... I'm not sure how to reply to this without swearing ................ WOW!!!!!!!   I guess I should say congrats on losing your job ....... 🙂 Let us know when you get a new one so we can say commiserations .... 🙂

Seriously impressive hauls and quality of fish there Sef, just awesome!!  Did the calamari (is that what it is?) take a bait intended for fish? And did you eat it?

Haha cheers kelvin it’s been a well earned break. Yeah it’s a cuttlefish weighed 8kg and ate a yakka. One of the other lads ate and reckons it was shite lol. I only kept it to use for some big cut baits but when we got home I had one look in ice box and the god almighty ink mess it had made and I was not dealing with that thing.

Wowsers what a haul!!! Mate you are smashing it.

I have never seen a cuttlefish that size. Amazing.

Some stonker spanish and awesome snapper.

Well done and thanks for posting.

If you go out on a trip again soon can you do up a bit of a report of the trip and give us some tips etc?

Again thanks and I hope you stay unemployed for some time yet.

Cheers mate, I’ll be fishing the Moreton bay trailer boat classic this week so I’ll try and do a report after that if I go any good

Nice first post 😂. Too many fish there for proper details but most snapper were taken on soft plastics. A few were nailed on half mullet fillets as light as a sinker will allow to get down. Generally run a two hook snelled rig or a three ganged setup anywhere from shallow to 80 metres of water
