Any Rodbuilders here???

just thought id ask if anyone else here makes their own rods or makes them for other people, i have been for a few months ive so far made three, 2 for me and one for a friend.

if there are any builders on here maybe we should approach admin about adding a rod building section into the forums.

also if there are any builders post up pics of your work for others to see im in the process of photographing my rods to post up.

so far ive REmade my baitcaster rod, ive made a SP rod and ive REmade one of my friends old fiberglass rods for bait fishing

Mate that a good idea.

Ausfish has a Rod uilding site and a lot of good info is available to budding rod builders

I have been building and repairing rods for the last 10 years and I am still learning everyday. I am yet to master the decorative art part of rod building but that does not catch you any more fish.

Rodman you might wanna check out www.rodbuilding.org its based in the us but it has everything and anything youll ever need on building your own rods.

i still think a section on here would be good so then we could attract more people to the site

I have built quite a few over the years

But must admit with the varety on the market and well priced quality rods too :woohoo:

you can usually pick and choose a suited rod cheaper than you can buy the coponents

Still I'm gathering the components to build a heavy duty jig stik at this momment

Does someone want to do like a instructional post with pics and steps for building a rod, Gazza could u with ure heavy jig stick? I wouldnt mind building my own rod and then catching a fish on it.

Will do still deciding on which blank at the momment and making a rod dryer and binding jig binding jig is done just need a motor

here is a ok site - i attempted to re build my 7ft squidgy spin that i snapped 2inchs of - after i took the guides off i gave it a short flick and about another 6inchs just snapped off - so im giessing its shattered all throughout
