Fishing Plan & Report - Northern Moreton Bay Saturday 20 October 2018

FINALLY got the chance to fish ... been a month and half and I am junkie in need of a hit bad...feel like the guy out of Trainspotting!

Now the bloody hardest thing of all...where / what to do tomorrow.

Weather is looking mighty fine wind wise for a trip to the top of the Cape and maybe up to Hutchies ...

Or do I just see if there are any early Macks schooling up around the beacons...or try for some late season long tail...

What to do what to do...

Guys hit me with some suggestions..

Got a couple of things on tonight (beers) so most probably looking at a 530 - 6am blast off from Scarborough

Good luck @Poddymullet - any of those options sound good. The reefies should be fired up after this rain. I'm taking the family out to chase whiting around the Rous Channel/Small Boat Passage. Haven't nailed them yet so am keen to work it out so we can achieve success regularly.

Thanks mate....I need some blue water fishing experience! Good luck with the whiting...love em on light tackle

Mate Macks make awesome bait for reefies. Why not try for both?

I hope you had a great trip if you did get out. Weather was MINT.

Did you head out mate? Any tuna around?

Hey mate .. yep on the water at 7 in the end (bit slow) and decided to go to nautical mile to see if any Macks were around.   Good news is that they were or though only a couple ... stayed for an hour then headed to Tangalooma to see if the Kings might be there...nothing 🙂. Wanted to head back early so did a spot of swimming at the wrecks...water is fine. Then headed in. One of those days when I was keen before heading out but then kind of lost a bit of interest halfway through the morning...

man i was out yesterday at the mile and didnt see a single mack caught! baits and lures...nothing!

Wasn’t a lot of hits while is was there but saw 3 landed but about 5 hits. I have fished the northern side of the mile plenty now and I can tell you your location is king. I’ve caught them next to people catching zip. Also been in the same place ...

Should team up sometime soon ?
