Crab Pot Theft

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

Read that some crabbers have been having problems with theft from crab traps.

I have been developing a new system of a dye or ink stain device that operates when the pot is removed from the water,

a float disperses a needle that brakes a dye packet, hence dye every where, any comments if this would be of interest to anyone??

Is it illegal?

Sounds great.

There is a new release in October at www.boatnrod.com.au for crab pot timers. Check it out.

Mod Note.
Warning: Check your state regulations for legality.

These are illegal in QLD and probably most other states so i hope you are going to warn your customers to check their states legislation before they purchase these.

I guess the dye covers the thief, What's stopping it from covering you, Also make sure it's biodegradable dye or the greenies will hunt you down, That could be even more annoying than the thief's. "Legally" I doubt you could use it or sell it, So be careful.

Good Luck.
