It’s a dirty job and someone’s got to do it.

Although l did use a 240 volt sander (wet sanding) for the sides being very careful. Do not recommend this. I was not keen on doing that up above me with water dripping down the sander.

I bought a pneumatic random orbital sander to do the job.

I'd kill the mongrel that told you to remove the antifoul although she is looking good now

Thanks

I would,  but l respect him to much😁

I’ll have a little surprise tomorrow to post.

This is going to be one long boring post for those who don’t give a toss about someone else’s boat.

When she is all done and ready for fishing, we will arrange another  1770 trip with everyone.

Yes I will enjoy it even more when it's finished. I have learnt a lot along the way and hope that by posting its progress that AFO members can put the information to good use, if they undertake anything like this in the future.

Spoke with a boat builder today and some of the things I was concerned about are not an issue which puts my mind at rest. Now that I have it at a stage that I can continue to use it and work on it inbetween is great.

I expect to have it a long time so I might as well have it the way I want. If circumstances change I it has to go, then the work should have improved the value a little. I know I'll never buy a trailer boat with bottom paint on it again.

No Typo, 3/4 to go.

Nearly got all the antifoul off.

Still in the process of the first sand with 240 grit, then 360,600,800,1000,2000 extra cut compound then final polish. That is how l have done the bow.

A bigger compressor would have been handy. Do 15 seconds of sanding before waiting a minute for it to reach operating pressure again.

Not worth changing now I’m this far through.
