Hi folks,

Has anyone lately heard of a temporary ban for catching sea cucumber in South Queensland?

In fisheries website, its only talking about the general limit of it - which is 5.

At Sandstone point, I have seen a temporary banning sign which was hidden by another sign post.   Just want to double-check - but I couldn't find any other official source from online.

Anyone knows where to look up for this information?

Thanks a lot guys.

Hey AusTyler,

I have not heard about the sea cucumber one. The one up at Sandstone point was put in because the shellfish were getting decimated by collectors.

There was a survey from Fisheries a few weeks ago asking if people wanted a total ban on shellfish collection. While I do think the 50 per person is way too many I hope we can still go get a feed of Quampies.

If I hear anything I will let you know.
