Penn Spinfisher Vi

Pierce Lim

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am asking about the Spinfisher VI 7500 (15.8kg) & Long Cast 7500 (11.3kg).  Why both reel have different max drag?  Both are same size from Spinfisher VI family, is there a wrong print specification?

For surf fishing, is Spinfisher VI better or Slammer III?  Thank you for all inputs.

don't think there's a misprint, I've found the same specs when I've searched. I assume it is because the design with the long cast means they've had to sacrifice some of the strength and so it limits the max drag.

Penn Spinfisher VI 7500 Max Drag: 35lb/15.8kg

Penn Spinfisher VI 7500LC Long Cast Max Drag: 25lb | 11.3kg

I think the the improvements made to the spinfishers have made them pretty good and bring it closer to the slammer but not it’s equal yet. I'd probably go Slammer III

Hi Danny,

Thanks for the clarification. I will go for the Salmmer III HS.

Just for fun, may be another wrong print from Daiwa J-Braid?  How can it be PE6 80lbs only 0.35mm line diameter?

I saw the Daiwa web both USA and Australia, PE6 should be 65lb 0.41mm.  So strange this Daiwa J-Braid packaging in my local tackle store.
