Gday peeps, heading to Newcastle in march and taking my 15ft surf rod, has anyone fished off the hawksnests coast? I've done some research but what experience have you had and what lures/bait works best..

Plenty of rock fishing down there. I have some mates that live on the Hunter River and will ask for some tips.
