Setting Up For Cod

Howdy I'm Dan I've just started fishing about a month two ago . I have to change my tackle but don't know what to use .I want to chase cod

Both fresh and salt . Mainly fresh atm I've got a 6ft rod with 6pound braid with a little hardy body and soft plastic. I think it's to light ???

Hey Dan,

Welcome to the forum. 

If you are after large Murray or Mary river cod 6 lb is too light IMHO. Better to pump that up a bit. Braid with the lures you mentioned is a great way to start.

Where do you fish?

Howdy . I've been fishing around the Brisbane River and creeks in the area under bridges around and pile one .I say thanks for the advice for the tackle.
