Been fishing landbased around the Broadwater lately for a feed of whiting. Not in great numbers, but all a decent 30odd cm.

Using bloodworms for bait. They are so expensive that if you don't use them all you have to go fishing everyday until they are all gone. Bugger.

Should have got a photo of my 35.2cm one from paradise point the other night to add to the mix!

Bloodworms are hard to beat when targeting whiting. As a kid Digging bloodworms in the passage always resulted in us having whiting for dinner! 

My son & I picked these ones up on yabbies in the passage yesterday along with plenty of bream that went back in the water.

A forty is my target. What end of the Passage ?

Picked them up north of Donnybrook around Lime Pocket. 

Plenty of weed around at the moment.

You mentioned how expensive blood worms are - when I was a kid on the Tweed I used squirt worms for whiting and blackfish which were way better than blood worms (and free if you have a yabbie pump). Just have to pump around the casings you can see at low tide, but takes a lot of them to make a decent amount of bait.
