Off to a chilly start out the dam this morning, after losing a shrimp trap to snag I had 5 shrimp to try and convert into bass so off I go trolling my merry way down dam  taking in the serenity, let’s just say after a few hours of enjoying the serenity I had Deffinetly had enough of it ! Searching all the usual haunts of the dam revealed nothing except a few scattered fish here and there and even they weren’t interested, by dumb luck I managed to to find the school I had been searching for after going to investigate what I thought was a eagle eating a snake (turns out he it was a stick) with the sounder lit up like a Xmas tree it was on for young and old. No trophy fish landed but what they don’t have in size they deffinetly made up for in fight. By far the best session I have had on jigs out there and also managed to get a pb of forkies! I don’t mind to as they get a quick shave from me and turned into eagle food as Percy was not interested he’s too well fed ! Took a while to find em today but well worth the wait. I managed to take a few quick pics In between the action. 37 bass all up, also managed to get gill spiked by a bass for the first time today too right in between the knuckles I can tell you now it’s not much fun!

How did you line yourself up perfectly with that cloud behind you ? Gifted.

You'll have Dino and Ray getting jealous with numbers like that.

That's a great session you've had there, great job on the bass and PB forkies. I am going to try to finish up my work for school by Friday so I can go out Friday morning, I know the tides are right at the park and I have to do work (Sigh!)

Just a quick question, also. Do the forkies have to be kept from the dam or is it optional? I always see everyone fishing NPD gives them to Percy or the eagles, but is that because it is by law (like you have to kill tillies, carp, etc) or just because it is wanted to?

they were never in our dam and when seq stopped PRFMA doing the dish recovery below the dam wall after a spill some dumb arse had put them above the wall and into the dam, never going to get rid of them now but will do everything I can to keep the numbers down

Rightio, I wish tossers like that didn't exist. They obviously didn't know the detrimental effects it would have on angling in the dam. At least there is an endless supply of crab bait in there now, LOL. If I ever catch one in there, I'll make sure to get rid of it.

That sounds heavenly, the best I've ever done (on lures) is a single fish for every cast I've ever done.  Seems like I'll need to put in far more effort to get that amount of fish though.

Like fishingnut said, it is very interesting about the tooth paste. I will also remember some hot water if the next time I go just in case.
