snuck our for an arvo session in the yak floating pilles and squid and first trip I’ve had never give up thou! I’ll keep at it! Still trying to convince the misses I need a tinnie

Never fished there. Is it rubbly bottom or silt/sand ?

If it's the latter you may do better with targeting flathead by trolling with a hard body lure or soft plastic. If it's rubbly then squid and pillies should work if the fish are there.

Do you have a sounder ?

Rubble sea grass Rocky and reefs closer to the point 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡 was at 130pm I got out their at 3 and fished till 6. bit of structure no sounder unfortunately so obviously fishing blind and hope for some luck. Meant to hold squire...another day

Pity 'bout the donut, but persistence is key. You will eventually find a good spot. Hopefully a spot X. 

A tinny looks like it would be a lot more comfy in that weather!

Mate I have a greyscale Lowrance 5" sounder (including transducer etc) you can have for $20 if you're interested. You'd just need to get a little 12V battery to run it.

Have you tried varying your troll speed ?

It wasn’t that bad kept pretty dry just uncomfortable reaching behind me for supplies ie a couple cans for company
