What's Breakfast Creek Like ?

Gday Ladies and Gents .

Thinking about hitting breakfast creek tomorrow and was hoping to get some info before having a blind crack at it. I've been wanting to land a meter plus thready for a few months now my best so far is 72cm which is a bit disappointing.  Can anyone tell me if breakfast creek is sheltered from the wind ? Is it worth chasing thredie's there ? Is there much boat traffic there ? And does it hold much bait ?

Cheers

Dave

It holds plenty of bait - take your castnet. Not a lot of boat traffic. Fishing-wise out from the mouth is the place to fish. Plenty of old reports on AFO of threadies and jew from there. The wind will be coming from the east therefore straight up the Colmslie stretch into your face, but it's not looking too strong so doable in a medium sized tinny. Wind against tide in the morning and with it in the arvo., so it'll be calmer as the day goes on.

Thanks ellicat , might put it on hold till the wind gets a bit better tinny is only 4m and I'm not familiar with the area if it's not sheltered I'm not going to risk it .might sneak up mooloolah or noosa plenty of hiding spots from easterlies  up there

Great that you have lots of options. I would be comfortable in a 4m tinny in Breakfast creek in anything under 15 knots of wind but it would be a lot nicer in less. It sounds like a good spot for an easy fish and and there were reports of prawns already flipping in the creek. Good luck wherever you go and FYI there has not bee a Thready entered into the comp yet!
