AUS-BNE-FISHO
Hey Drop Bear Yep, same here. I either chuck 'em in the water/ice, or slit there throats. I better buy an Ikejuime! Cheers Hamish Brodie_S and Drop Bear

Junky
I've been brain spiking and bleeding mine for a while now. I just use the knife in the bait board. It's very quick and imo the flesh tastes better cause the fish hasn't stressed itself out to much. That could just be the placebo effect though. There is a fair bit of evidence to support your tastes better theory.
Brodie_S
Yeah I usually push a knife just behind the eye for most fish speices that usually kills them instantly sometimes I do it twice if not much blood is coming out of the stab wound and then I slit the throat with a knife then put the fish in the Eski with some water from the body of water im fishing in it . Seems to work well Drop Bear
Popular Post samsteele115
Spike and bleed! A sharpened tent peg or screwdriver is fine, or small knife. I carved this nice handle, a gift for a fishing mate. Not sure why he didn't want it? Drop Bear, Old Scaley, Brodie_S and 5 others
benno573
For all fish - follow lateral line along body, spot to spike approx 1/2 way between end of lateral line and center of eye. I use a sharp short pocket knife on the kayak, the wider blade affords some minor inaccuracy in location as well. Exception to this rule is flathead... they are difficult. ellicat, jon and Drop Bear

When @crazywalrus decided to take one for the table, there was a bloodbath in the boat from all the different attempts to locate the brain.
