Thems fightin’ words! . Next time I go there I will take my 8’ Wilson Heritage rod. It is a latter day copy of those old soft fibreglass rods that I bought years ago and never use. I did take it down to Jacobs Well once with @benno573 and @ellicat. Benno laughed when he saw it so it went straight back to the rod rack and stayed there ever since. He is a cruel, cruel man.

Haha. That thing is a beast and has caught fish (well, a fish anyway). @Esox_angler, I don’t know if you ever visit this forum anymore but it was the best gift ever. I still pick it up and fall just a little bit in love with it. If I go offshore again sometime soon, I will take it out and see how it goes on a marauding spanish.

Well, my favourite rod ever is a 10’ 6” Wilson Bream Reaper, and I still have it. It is deadly on the bream, even with me behind it!

@Drop Bear You might gather from my comment that that side of me was a loooooong time ago. Circa 1980?  Black Queen Deluxe or Erskine Deluxe were fantastic  for detecting the bites of very  wiley Mitchell River bream
