Hey guys anyone know whats in bulimba creek?

The sorta area which i want to fish is under the old cleveland road bridge

Anyone fished there?

And is it any good?

You'd think there would have to be bass in there. What is there to lose? 

There are bass in the upper reaches of eprapah creek at Victoria pt.

It's worth a try. Like I said I got bass in eprapah so I can't see why bulimba would be different.

Oh...and if your post/question goes unanswered for a bit it's because it's not an extremely busy forum, well posts wise anyway. The regulars on here will try to respond, even if they can't help.

lots of carp and tilapia in there as well as some natives. 

Its a nice place to wet a line.

I know they have been caught in there. I cant give you any first hand info on it sorry mate. Let us know how you go.

Hey Ob20

Welcome to the forum - sounds like you may have a spot to figure out! 

Bulimba Creek seems to be renowned for big tilapia and carp (as well as other invasive species). I'd assume you know that because they are noxious fish you need to kill them and dispose of them responsibly.

Your best bet to catch these would probably be a light leader, small hook, worms, and a float.

Maybe and hopefully if you can try with some lures (such as spinnerbaits) you could pull a bass out of there.

Yes, ive heard that there is lots of invasive species

That might be why there is not many bass

I'd recommend an ecogear sx40 or similar in the tackle box.

I've caught most of my creek base on them.

Diawa has a similar one too. Can't remember the name though. 

 

Slow winds and a 1 or 2 pauses per retrieve.
