There is a ramp at South Brisbane, just near the old Paul’s milk factory. There is one of those nice new city council multi purpose pontoons about 100 metres away from the playground area where we would hope to be. It is out of sight though because it is just around the corner. Also, you can tie up to them but time is limited (20 minutes I think), so you would probably need to be on or near the boat at all times. It would be less than 2 kms from the ramp to the pontoon. If you know Coronation Drive, the ramp is on the opposite side of the river just west of the go-between bridge and the pontoon is at the other end of that reach, a bit further down than opposite the Regatta hotel, so you would cover that distance in no time.

It gets pretty busy there on weekends with parties so I don’t think we can be certain of getting a shelter shed and tables even if people get there at 10.30. I could bring a couple of small fold up tables for food if that helps.

I’ve decided I’m not going to bother bringing the boat. Too much hassle.

I can put my stuff in the car. Can show you how to sort one out too if you’re not sure. Not sure how the onlookers at west end will take that one though! 😂

Is that in reply to my request?  If so that would be great. Hope I do catch one. Have burley, freshwater eel and my tackle shop guy even made me a couple of shark traces (so I didn't have to buy a whole roll of wire). And what business is it of any onlookers?  Are there a lot of Karen's there?

I presume I look up tide for Brisbane River Hill End?  If so tide is high at 10.24 and is 2.32m.  Solunar theory says it is a very good day for fishing and best time is from about 10.30am for a couple of hours.  I will bring my biggest sinker - but I fear I should have bought some bigger ones today.  Oh well you live and learn.

Hi All.  The area @ellicat chose was taken by 7.45am.  The second set of gazebos - the ones past the playground were taken also.  They are leaving about 10.30am and the lovely Christian couple Karen and Brett said they will save the tables for us.  I am fishing in front until I see you.

Cheers Katrina

Hi all

It was a great little get together - not to hot or cold, a nice breeze for some of the time, a good meet and greet with some, and many good tales were told!

I hope too see everyone again soon! 🙂

Cheers Hamish

And big thanks to Brian and Kat for supplying some food and getting the shelter locked in!

Shame the fish weren't biting, hey Kat.

Hi Hamish. School’s in again.

Not too hot, not ‘to’.

I hope to, not ‘too’.

cheers

Greg
