SP's at night.

Can soft plastics be effective at night.I have a variety of plastics and tried a few minnow shapes last night on the seaway entrance to no avail.

Is it worth the effort at night and what patterns do you recommend????.

I have had great success at night on plastics. I like the flick baits or prawn immitations

I'm no expert but have listened to a couple.

Depending on water depth, clarity and what you're targetting -

On a dark night (no moon, cloud cover etc) SP's with more action/vibration work better and colour doesn't make much difference.

On a light night (full moon, shore light etc) Colour of SP ....dadada

I find at night the colour isnt too important. Its the shape of tail that seems to work. After the last fishing seminar i went on the guy speaking was talking about it. And he was saying that paddle tails and the like are great at night because the movement they create get the fishes attention.

Yeah, flick/stick bait usually dont create that much movwmwnt. So if your flicking at night with them, its better to do so near lited areas, like pontoons etc.

i have glow in the dark 3\" minnow but not sure if they work yet?

Yes i have those in 3 & 4 \" glow in the dark with eyes - powerbaits i think.

I have a few packs of powerbait 7\" worms are they worth a shot.

mate try some gulp 3\" minnows adn gulp 2\" shrimp. use as light a head as possible 1/16th is a ood start. just work them really slow cast ahead of the current and work them back with it. a few twitches every 10 seconds or so is all that is needed

sp do work at night - just depends on how you use them - at night i prefer to use the gulp 2inch shrimps,3inch gulp minnows or ecogear paramax, exactly what pcsolutionman stated with the jigheads..

i havent had much luck on the flick/stick baits at night either but yeah - just gotta keep at it till the take it..

Are the gulp 2\" shrimps the plastics in the round tubs with fluid,if so what colour/flavour.

the gulp shrimps come in packets and in the tubs - my fav are the natural, motling, pearl white and new penny. could also atomic prong in any colour

Got a Trevelley on a squidgy wriggler at night a few weeks ago. Also caught fish on paddle tail shads at sunset.
