Wagged work today thought I'd go chase some mackerel or tuna as I've run out of burley logs and I don't eat fish. Had an absolute ball took the new combo and ive got to say I made a fantastic choice , the ATC combat plus is an awesome baitcaster and the blade and tails rod well , (already knew that rod would be a killer) . I was getting a 30 gram slug out around the 50-60 meter mark with the wind behind me. All up I landed 12 Mac tuna but only kept 8 I also threw back a spottie mackerel . Was pretty happy afterwards considering I only got out for 2 hours.

Hardly any boats out , I was a bit surprised there wasn't more. Was awesome to sit on the water for a couple hours.

Only someone who doesn't eat fish would keep the Mac Tuna and throw back the Spottie

Those Mac Tuna are great line burners and lots of fun when spinning slugs - sounds like a fun session.

Was about 800m south east of red beach (bribie island ) when I hit the first school . Never even got to skirmish point. There was one school I could have got out and run across

Yeah their great fun and make good snapper baits and fantastic burley. Spotties are boring 3 runs and it's all over much more fun chasing the little Mac tuna.

Great result on the new gear @Sneaky1. What do you do to keep the Mac tuna? Freeze them whole? Fillet, salt and freeze?

I filleted 5 and put 5 fillets on salt will vacuum seal them in 3 days the other 5 fillets are vacuum sealed and in the freezer the other 3 will be frozen whole with the remaining frames and put through the food processor for burley.

Yeah the combo is awesome I can't wait to punish it properly . Was just awesome to have a break from the truck

Weather changes and nice snapper seem to like the change so I'm going to start my burleying again
