queensland NPD 11/12/20

I missed out on my normal Wednesday fishing fix this week so when I got a call from Allround Angler at Caboolture that my 95lb watersnake was ready to b picked up I naturally had to have a fish in NPD on the way. A quick call to Stew and decky was arranged. Bit of a drama when I launched when the dead mans safety magnet was not attached to the top of the haswing and I thought that I had knocked it off when I took the net off the boat at the gate. Quick trip back to the gate and it was not there so back to the ramp to find t sitting n the bottom of the boat  DUH!!!!!!!!!.

Saw a school of fish at the yellow buoy just outside the ramp bay and quickly pulled in 2 forkys so we departed quickly. The sounder was bare all the way to FAD 2 where Stew picked up a solid 58cm yella that was released.

Searched around a few other spots for nix until we found some fish in the same area that they were on Sunday . Only problem there were a lot of forkys mixed in with them. We then drifted away a little  and lost the forkys but the bass were scattered. Finished up with 29 bass ( best 46cm) 10 forkys,1 tandan and 2 yellas he late sized one had a tag in it so it was released also.

Just a plug for Allround Angler for waternsake repairs 4 day turn around and very reasonable pricing plus some great gear in their shop.

Hey Kat 

Ray is referring to a Forktail Catfish, a massive Vernon species. They shouldn’t be in NPD and are annoying as they are gross, slimes, abs steal baits.

Good work on the fish Ray, looks like a nice little session.
