ABT events

hey i didnt know what thread to put this in so i thought id just put it in here.

any of you guys fished any tournaments like the ABT or anythign like that. if so how was it?

I havn't, but I know Troy (blue_mako) has. He did pretty well in the events he went in.

haha yeah, me and my mate were thinking of doing them more for the fun of it maybe late next year and the year after we finish school.

they so bloody fun id enjoy it even if i didnt catch anything

If you're 16 go for it mate. Awesome fun and you meet a lot of good people as well as catch a few fish. Fish the qualifiers as a Non Boater to start with, that's what I did just to see what it's like.

But if you can find a mate with a 3.8 tinnie, 20hp+ motor and electric have a go at the Summer Series. First comp is tomorrow at the Gold Coast then Tweed the following Sunday. There's 2 more rounds at the Gold Coast for the series, one in Jan one in Feb.

yeah sounds good, i am 16 turning 17 next year during year 12 and would like to maybe give them a go next year and then compete a bit more seriously the year after that when we finish school. we will have a boat soon i think its gonna be a 4.75m Tomcat from bluefin boats so i could use that.

Been thinking about going in the bream and bass ones for years but dont want to take the fun out of fishing by getting to serious see what happens?

yeah i watch the AFC on tv and they take it very seriously but i spose thats their job but i could never take fishing that seriously.
