victoria Is this flat head safe too eat?

Just speared this flatty off st Leonards pier, it obviously has something wrong with it. Has a blind eye and some sort of issue with the skin around it’s head. Had these little squiggling worms on its body... just wondering if it’s good too eat?

I also wouldn't eat it, obviously infected with some sort of parasitic worm.

I filleted it and the flesh looked fine, I’m still not sure about eating it though..

That looks real crook. Might make good strip bait, but I wouldn't be ingesting any.

If you keep anything like that I would throw it out straight away and wash you’re hands and definitely not use it for strip bait cause if you catch something using then infested strip bait the parasite will find it’s way into the flesh of that fish you caught and infect it . Shame it was a decent size flatty but you don’t want a parasite in ya
