Is this on a XTrail? The modern cars are good in that they protect the engine should the car detect that is something wrong but bad when it is a false reading, which is usually the cause ie; faulty sensor or something, and usually very inconvenient at the time. You may have to invest in a OBD2 device scanner and software, that way you may be able to disable the faulty sensor and continue on your way. However you do take the risk that there may actually be a fault in the engine and could damage the engine further if you do use one.

That’s not good Ray - have they put their finger on the problem yet? Don’t suppose you get rats at all? Our place and our neighbours used to (non-built under timber cottages) used to get them and as the weather cooled the little buggers would crawl into the engine area and chew on the wiring. Ours did it and so did our neighbours - his barely made it up their sloped driveway. We had two towies turn up in the space of hours .... 🤪🤨

Happened to my parents a couple of months ago! Rat dispatched as soon as they could...
