queensland Hinze Dam 17.05.21

Did another solo trip to Hinze Dam this morning .

I left home 15 minutes early than my last trip and got there 45 minutes quicker . 

Arrived  at the ramp to be greeted by a beautiful clear crisp morning , with not another person to been seen .

I had a few shrimp left over from my last trip so was able to start fishing without having to pull any shrimp traps. The bass were on the job from the first drop and bit quite well for the entire morning . Final tally was 35 Bass , 3 tandans, 2 grunter, and 2 eels.

My shrimp ran out at about 10.30am , so I called stumps and pulled my shrimp traps to take home some for my next trip.

No big fish this trip but plenty in the 30 to 40cm range . They are starting  to row up for the winter spawn , and all fish were holding good condition. 
Next trip is organised for Wednesday with  the  Ray the bass king , so should have a few more to report .

Can you leave the petrol engine on the boat at hinze or do you need to take it off like at North Pine?

Yes you can leave your petrol engine on at Hinze , but must not use it.

My boat has a 70 Hp Suzuki on it ,unfortunately  effectively ruling me out for use on NPD and Lentallls Dams .

NPD  ..... no petrol motors 

Lenthalls must be 60hp or less and is speed restricted .

Summerset anything goes

Wivenhoe is speed restricted 

Hinze .... electric only , but you can have a petrol motor still attached.

I’m yet to understanding reasoning for the different rulings , so you have to do your homework before visiting any of our fresh water impoundments. Rulings must have been made on different moon periods is my  best guess.
