So i fly in/out of brissi every week and often look at creeks that run from the gateway up towards the Airport. I believe u cant fish close to the airport but just wondering if its worth dropping in and goong for a poke…

has anyone ever had any good luck??

Im the same. Flying over there makes me wanna put a pot in every creek haha.

Schulz canal is a popular spot for flatties and little bull sharks (in summer). 10 years ago there used to be regular reports from members fishing there. -

Hi Bood

I've read lots of those reports. Best ones are from an old member called @Jordan, he caught jacks and cod and flatties, etc.

I don't know if it would be fishing as good as that now. Always worth a try.

Cheers Hamish

Nah, it certainly was a thing back then. Word also got out, and a few others got in there too. Some did the wrong thing and exploited it, one i believe even took out the biggest Bream award at more than one Straddie Classic Fishing Comp

Yep I have fished it back in the day but it was done by the time I got there. I had also heard the Straddie Classic story. 🙂

Nice to hear from someone that has done well out of it.

I have done well from other Jurassic ponds since then but they are out of bounds so wont talk about it on a forum.

Thanks for a great read.
