queensland Bream rig and bait suggestion pls??

Any recommended rig set up for Bream please?

I’m fishing down the Logan River. Any suggestions for what kind of baits from experienced locals would be much appreciated. Thanks all.

2 or 3 ball sinker (depending on current) to a swivel to a 40 - 50 cm trace. Size 2/0 baitholder hook or a 1/0 longshank. Best bait = Live yabbies.

As light a line as you're game.

And throw up current and let it drift past you with the current. The bream usually nab it on the way through.

Agree with @ellicat as light as you can and as @GregOug drifting your bait naturally down the current is key

I've found that when bream fishing, bites increase when using a light trace, about 10 pounds. Bream can be very finicky or very omnivorous - it just depends on the day.

In the Logan River, there are prawns, and herring. Either of these baits will work. Fish a light sinker, and fish towards structure.

If you are using herring, I have found that bream nearly always hit the head first so make sure you have a hook in that end of your bait.
