HIN number (Please Help)

G'day all, I purchased a tinny a few months back without a Hull identification number. I have had the trailer inspected and that has all gone through ok and I've registered that. Now I know I can't go ahead with boat rego until I get a HIN, is it as simple as going into the department of transport and buying one or is there more to it? Help would be much appreciated.

Can't really help you but would reckon the DOT would

point you in the right direction. See what they say and go 

from there. Good luck and update your findings.
