I wish I hurt it on a big fish Kelvin,  it would had made the last 2 months of pain worth it. 

Got caught out in some ugly weather coming home in the dark , 20+knots of NE & following sea I ran over the top of a wave and there was nothing in front of it, just a big trough ,  boat nosed dived into the back of the next wave which force me around the side of the center console tearing a tendon in my shoulder. Never trust a 5knot forecast.

Well well well.  If you were all wondering why I hadn't put in my two cents worth it was because I skim read the title and author and assumed it was another post about bloomin footie!  Not til I saw a post in the Christmas get together about a comp that I scrolled through recent topics.  Lol.  I will now bother having a read as it is about the sport of fishing rather than another sport I have no interest in (except maybe looking at a few glutes and pecks occasionally).

Sign me up!  Being from GC I presume I am a South Sider - does it matter how far south.  Can't wait to read the rules and species. Think I won a category last comp by extreme luck! Still landed the fish though so maybe not all luck...

So was about to post my biggest whiting of the day on the leaderboard but unfortunately a fellow team member @Neil Stratfordtook the wind out of my sails and posted his 39cm whiting before I had a chance.  I am now depressed.

Today was one of the best whiting sessions I have ever had   despite my prediction that nothing would be caught given the brown water we saw at low tide on the ferry over to Macleay.   My biggest for the day was - let's just say - a little smaller than 39cm .  

Good one Neil!  My aim is to beat that in the next month....

Ha ha.  Another session in the early wee hours tomorrow as long as the yabbies survive the night so will wait and see - but will post tomorrow.  Certainly no prize winner size but thought I might start the leaderboard anyway ha ha.  Neil beat me to it with a cracker!

I think that @Neil Stratford‘s success is proof of 2 truisms about fishing: (1) time on water is key; (2) 80% of fish are caught by 20% of fishermen. Well done Neil. I am looking at the categories yet to be dominated by the mighty Southsiders so I can target a species after Christmas. No flathead on the leaderboard yet, @Kat. Should be a few down your way.

Hi Old Scaley ,

I fished for flathead today , got a not too bad GT as by catch,  posted its photo  early this afternoon.

I also photographed  one ok  flathead , but I might let the northsiders  show what they can do , before I put it up as an entry.

I’m sure Ray “the bass whisperer “ has a few bass and yellowbelly entries he’ll keep up his sleeve till the closing hours of the comp.

Toying with them, I like it ...... . I caught a small bar-tailed flattie last week when whiting fishing but hadn’t read the rules to know I could submit it, so hopefully we can get 3 flatties on the board. Surely ... .
