Fishing Goals for 2022

Hi all

With the year coming to an end I was wondering what everyone's best captures this year, and fishing goals for next year were.

Here is the thread from last year -

My goals from last year were - 

1) 1M+ Thready out of the river. Whether it be on a boat, kayak, or landbased, I'll take it! - Done

2) More flatties on lures out of the brown snake off the kayak. Ideally, a new PB of 75CM+. Not done, but close (from Noosa River)

3) A Brisbane River Jewfish - Not Done

4) A 1.5M plus river Bull Shark. I know ideally you'd be fishing in the ocean for these ones, but one off the yak would be real good! Not Done

And adding to the list of 'undones', I''m going to put:

5) A lure caught thready (from the river)

6) Some landbased squire - done

6) Catch any fish on a lure - done

So, what are your goals for 2022?

Ha ha Hamish.  I have three goals this coming year:

1.  Get more feeds more consistently.

2.  Get a monster of at least one of my target species - i.e. a 44cm whiting (lol) or a 90cm Flattie or....ha ha not sure what a monster Snapper would be but love targeting and catching them.  Oh and Cod.... 

3.  Catch my first Jack!

Last year I said -

40cm whiting and metre murray cod. Same as last year.

In addition I want to slay the legal snapper. I thought it would happen when I got my boat, but alas I haven't caught a legal snapper for 8 years. I don't know what has happened, despite the intel received from AFO contributors. I'll take a 36 as a win in 2021.

Well I caught a few legal snapper this year, so I guess that's a win. I didn't get out as much this year though due to a bad year weather-wise and a few months early on with some family issues.

This years goal is a 40cm+ whiting and a 70cm+ snapper.

1. Attract less sharks - donated a full box of hooks to them this morning.

2. Find a reliable/ plentiful spot for live mullet.

3. Get a positive ID on whatever keeps spooling me in seconds.

"My goal for 2021 is to make it to 2022

If I can I would like to catch some more fish on lures on the rods I bought from Angus cause they are fun."

So I caught a few on one of the rods.... Then I lost it out of the boat...

Goal for this year is to catch a fish on the new shellfish reefs and release it.
