queensland Rod setup for pinkies

Hey guys its myles here ive already chose my first rod as a 5-10kg 7ft humphead td 20 black and a vanford 4000 for mangrove jack and giant trevally ive thought about makin a setup for pinkies of at the spit and near strattie and basically anywhere not out at sea that i could find them should i only buy 1 rod and use that for pinkies or is there a better sized rod and reel for pinks if there is please notify me, cheers Myles

Depends if you are tackle junkie or not.

You can spend pretty much as much as you like on fishing gear but the rig you have would do the job. If you wanted you could go a bit lighter for pinkies.

I just use the ones from BCF they are great. Just don't get them wet at all or they will rust away asap.

im gonna flick splash prawns and sugapen 95s will 20lb braid and 30lb flouro be enough or would i need to up the leader to 40lb as im targeting jacks, cheers myles

Depends on the terrain/structure you are fishing.

i have a tinny with a 4 stroke on it will I have to go off shore for big red snapper or will they be found near the seaway and off the spit

You don't have to go to deep. 

Most of my biggest fish have been caught in under 30m of water. 

Not sure off the gold coast but Macleay Island north in Moreton Bay is a snapper haven. Best fished with soft plastics. 

There is not much in that area deeper than 25m. 

Just spend the time on the water exploring, and use the minimal amount of weight you can. Don't bomb the plastics to the bottom, you do that for flathead, snapper like it El natural.

oh theres a local fishing rig shop near me its called suncoast skutes they have a snappaslappa 100g and a 150g option for snapper what would be better? they also have a snapper rig

I think those are for deeper water. A Hollow Core Flasher from Suncoast Skutes is popular for a lot of varied reef fish, including snapper.

You don't need to post the same thing twice - it doesn't disappear!
