Outboard Tilt Trim Lock Support - Required?

Given I've had a failure with my Yamaha Trim Cylinder, I was thinking whether i should change from my long time method of wedging a block of wood between the outboard and transom when trailering.

I'm thinking of purchasing something like this

https://www.outbackequipment.com.au/outboard-tilt-trim-lock

or the OEM

https://www.huntsmarine.com.au/products/yamaha-trailer-tilt-support-pn-amar-mtspt-wd

What is everyone doing with the motor / tilt when trailering?

New Mercury motors come with a solid alloy? support that works well. One might fit yours. Could be worth a look.
