New badge and rank system

I was just wondering if anyone knows how the new badge and ranking system works?

Kat, if you go to your profile and scroll down a bit you will find it. Seemingly there is a bunch of ranks and some badges to be early.

Lot's of configurable options - they call it "Gamification" which you see a lot nowadays

You can even make your own community specific awards. There are standard rules and configurable rules

I was rather chuffed to see that all my awards so far are ‘rare’ until I noticed that even being registered for at least a week was ‘rare’. Sort of brings you back to earth rather quickly. Just as a matter of interest, that must also mean we lose a hell of a lot of members in the first week!

it also got me to pondering what you need to do to earn a ‘legendary’ badge. Probably something like remembering your password on your first attempt.

I’m hoping to move up to the next rank fairly quickly. My current rank looks very like a fig leaf to me and I’m worried that autumn has already gone so it must be due to fall, and I’m too old to look good without it’s protection.
