Put the boat in at 6am this morning , the wind was puffing away from the south at about 10 knots from the south and the sea was slight as forecast. Motored out a few hundred metres to a little piece of reef  in 2 metres of water that often produces a few  assorted fish on plastics. It didn’t disappoint with most drifts producing a couple of keepers.
At about 9am the wind had picked up to about 15knots  and swung to the southeast . Hooked up to a large fish that took off hard but found a ledge  after a few seconds and made short work of me - ( major bummer)

Decided not to re rig and head back in with a good little feed .

Kept 4 Grassies ,2 snapper and a tailor , and released everything else.

Measured a few fish for team south.

Grass Sweetlip 1.}365mm 2.} 345 mm 3.}335mm 

Flathead 1.} 465 mm 2.’ 525mm 

Tailor 1.) 400mm

Blackspot Cod 1.) 410mm , Gold Spot Cod 2.) 410mm and Gold spot cod 3.) 360mm

Finally got back on the water and had a good day out with @Old Scaley today. It took a while, but we both got a feed before stumps. Steve lost a monster which was a bit of a downer.

I got my hand signals screwed up yesterday…Mud fished okay…only 3 keepers and a zillion grinners.

I finally got back to wet a line after what was an age away. No keepers, but enough to keep me interested till next time. The Pine was busy this morning, no parks at Dohles rocks, line up at the coffee shop too.

We were at Mud NE and SE yesterday too. We couldn't find any livies, so were hoping for a few grinners. Only had one small grinner all day, naturally...

Yes, that is a Barred Grunter/Javelin - Legal 40cm. Similar to a Spotted Grunter - Legal 30cm.

Hey Brian, no dropped it in briefly to see what was hanging around.  Looked like some mackeral cruising around the bait and clearly a few snaps came through as well.

We were just north of the Jeays beacon drifting.  Most of the boats were clustered around the southern side of Jeays.   

Bait was hanging north of the 7m rise, we marked two patches so just drifted back and forwards with plastics.   Berkley 5.5” forktail powerbaits did the job.   Cod has a 5.5” pilchard in its gob, so that was what they were eating.

No. Winter wasn’t the best time for boat selling. As the weather warms up now  people will start thinking about buying boats again.
